Dr Tedros, the director of the World Health Organization, and Dr Ali Haji, the minister of health of Somalia, spoke about the country’s health problems and the WHO’s involvement in the advancement of Somalia’s healthcare system.
The meeting’s discussion was centred on the state of affairs in Somalia, where the worst drought since 2011 has plunged the nation’s population of almost seven million into a humanitarian and medical emergency. and afflicted by hunger.
The Basic Health Care Package (EPHS), our national framework for planning, directing, and providing primary health services in the nation, was designed and developed with significant assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Minister and the Head of WHO concurred on the significance of cooperation and collaboration between the Ministry of Health and WHO, with a special emphasis on the meeting on the development & Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through enhancing the supply of Health Care services.
Finally, Dr Ali Haji Aden, the Federal Government of Somalia’s Minister of Health and Human Services, complimented WHO for its contributions to the improvement of Somalia’s health.
